Transport International Holdings Limited (TIH)’s 2008 Annual Report won the Bronze Award in the “General” category of the “2009 Best Annual Reports Awards” organised by the Hong Kong Management Association.
The theme of TIH’s 2008 Annual Report was “Building On Our Core Strengths To Ensure Sustainable Business Excellence”, reflecting the Group’s efforts in maintaining its position as a world leader in the transport industry and its commitment to ensuring sustainable business excellence by building on its core strengths of innovation, teamwork, efficiency and service excellence.
Besides reporting on the annual results and the financial information of the Group, TIH’s 2008 Annual Report enhanced transparency by providing details of the Group’s corporate governance practices, thus increasing the public’s understanding of the Group’s professional management and internal monitoring systems. It also included a conversation with the Managing Director through which the Group’s strategies and future direction were presented. TIH’s winning of the award reflects the fact that the design, content and presentation of its annual report have received recognition from the panel of adjudicators.
The “Best Annual Reports Awards” was established by the Hong Kong Management Association in 1973. With a history of over 30 years, the Awards aim at encouraging the publication of annual reports and accounts which are accurate, informative and well-presented to shareholders, employees and others who may have interest in the performance and activities of the organisation in question, thus indirectly increasing the transparency and the level of corporate governance of enterprises and companies in Hong Kong. This year there were 110 annual reports participating in the “2009 Best Annual Reports Awards”.
