Transport International Holdings Limited (TIH)’s 2008 Annual Report won the Best of Hong Kong (Traditional Format) Award, Gold in Overall Annual Report: Transportation & Transportation Leasing, and Bronze in Chairman’s Letter: Transportation & Transportation Leasing in the 2009 ARC Awards.

The ARC Awards were established by MerComm, Inc. in 1987. It is the world’s only independent awards organisation and its awards programmes are free from advertising, membership dues or outside sponsorships. Honouring overall excellence in annual reports, with the aim of encouraging noteworthy and vital writing as well as imaginative and original design, the ARC Awards are considered the most highly respected competition in the industry. This year there were more than 18,000 entries from organisations in more than 25 countries. TIH’s winning of the award reflects the fact that the design and content of its annual report were of an outstanding international standard.

The theme of TIH’s 2008 Annual Report was “Building On Our Core Strengths To Ensure Sustainable Business Excellence”, reflecting the Group’s efforts in maintaining its position as a world leader in the transport industry and its commitment to ensuring sustainable business excellence by building on its core strengths of innovation, teamwork, efficiency and service excellence.

Besides reporting on the annual results and the financial information of the Group, TIH’s 2008 Annual Report enhanced transparency by providing details of the Group’s corporate governance practices, thus increasing the public’s understanding of the Group’s professional management and internal monitoring systems. It also included a conversation with the Managing Director through which the Group’s strategies and future direction were presented.
